Bonnie Winings, Founding Partner
Bonnie’s 25+ years of experience includes media relations positions at PBS, in Washington, D.C; KCET/Los Angeles, and KOCE/Huntington Beach. She also headed up the viewer marketing department in Los Angeles and was responsible for 55 of the station’s budget. Bonnie is the recipient of eight national PBS awards for her work in publicity, media relations and marketing. As co-founder of SWPR Group since 1991, she has created campaigns for clients ranging from retailers Target and Mervyn’s to David E. Kelley Productions’ pop phenomenons “Ally McBeal” and “The Practice”. She also spearheaded the Griffith Observatory Reopening Campaign in 2006. Winings is a member of The Public Relations Society of America, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and The Television Publicity Executives Committee.
Michael Shepley, Founding Partner
Michael Shepley, Founding Partner: Michael is based in New York and has served as a press representative for not-for-profits, arts organizations, entertainment television series and culture for over 25 years. In 1987, he started his own business and came to represent landmark PBS series like Bill Moyers’s “Joseph Campbell & The Power of Myth” and,” “Healing and The Mind,” along with other classics like “The American Experience,” “Mobil Masterpiece Theatre,” “Smithsonian World,” and numerous single documentaries. In 1991, he formed SWPR Group with partner Bonnie Winings in Los Angeles, to handle commercial network fare. In New York, he currently represents the new HD network Smithsonian Channel, City University of New York Television, and philanthropist and author Lewis Cullman.
